Light Red Meranti, also known as Phillipine Mahogany, exhibits good stability and little movement in service.  Its grain is tightly interlocked and is usually coarse in texture with a slight lustrous appearance.  It takes finishes very well and has almost no resin or oil exudation.  All in all, a beautiful, clear siding product.
